n. Herxheimer reaction, inflammatory reaction caused by bacteria gradually disappearing and releasing toxins into the body faster than the body can handle with ease (first observed in patients with syphilis who received mercury treatment or antibiotics (named after the German dermatologist "Karl Herxheimer")
